Agro-based and Food Processing Industries Policy 2020 Incentives
Purpose:
A State incentive framework supporting eligible agro-based and food-processing projects in Maharashtra, including new projects and qualifying expansion, with emphasis on value addition, processing capacity, supply chains and rural employment.
Objective:
To reduce post-harvest losses, create processing and cold-chain capacity, improve farmer-market linkages, attract investment in food processing and generate employment in rural and semi-urban areas.

Beneficiary:
Eligible agro-processing and food-processing units in notified activities and locations, subject to investment, commencement, approvals, food-safety and pollution-control compliance, and exclusions specified in the policy and implementing resolutions.
Benefits:
Project-specific State incentives may include capital-related assistance, interest support, electricity/stamp-duty related concessions, infrastructure support or other eligible reimbursements, subject to policy ceilings and approval.
How To Apply
Procedure:
1. Confirm the project is an eligible agro-based/food-processing activity.
2. Prepare project report, investment, employment, raw-material sourcing and land details.
3. Obtain statutory approvals and commence eligible investment.
4. Apply to the competent authority for project status/Eligibility Certificate.
5. Complete verification and receive approval.
6. File incentive claims with GST, investment, production and employment evidence.
Required Documents: Detailed project report, land and building papers, Udyam/GST/PAN, FSSAI licence, pollution and local approvals, bank sanction, machinery quotations/invoices, production evidence, raw-material linkage, employment details and CA-certified investment statements.
