    Tribes India E-Marketplace

    Purpose:

    Tribes India E-Marketplace is an e-commerce and market-linkage initiative of TRIFED for promoting and selling authentic products made by tribal artisans, tribal producers, Van Dhan groups, tribal cooperatives and tribal enterprises. It covers tribal handicrafts, handlooms, paintings, jewellery, natural products, forest produce, food products and other eligible tribal goods. Products are marketed through the Tribes India portal and may also receive access to associated platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart and ONDC.

    TRIFED functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The Tribes India E-Marketplace was launched on 2 October 2020 to connect tribal producers and enterprises with national and international markets.

    Decision-Making Authority

    The competent authority of TRIFED, including the concerned Regional Office, Retail Marketing Division, procurement authority, product-selection committee or other authorised committee, is responsible for verifying eligibility, evaluating products, approving suppliers and deciding whether products may be procured, consigned or listed.     Time Required for Decision

    No uniform statutory processing period is publicly prescribed for supplier empanelment or product listing. The processing time depends on completeness of documents, verification of tribal status, evaluation of product samples, quality and safety checks, pricing, packaging, labelling, production capacity and approval by the competent TRIFED authority.     How To Apply

    Procedure:
    (1) Contact the nearest TRIFED Regional Office or submit an enquiry through the TRIFED contact portal.
    (2) Submit details of the tribal artisan, producer, SHG, cooperative, Van Dhan group or enterprise.
    (3) Provide documents establishing tribal status or association with an eligible tribal institution.
    (4) Submit PAN, bank account details, address proof, registration documents, GST details where applicable and authorised-person details.
    (5) Submit product samples or photographs, product specifications, raw-material details, proposed price, production capacity and supply information.
    (6) Submit applicable licences and certifications, including FSSAI registration for food products.
    (7) TRIFED evaluates tribal origin, authenticity, craftsmanship, quality, marketability, pricing, packaging, labelling and production capacity.
    (8) Complete vendor, procurement, consignment or empanelment formalities prescribed by TRIFED.
    (9) After approval, eligible products may be procured, consigned, marketed or listed through Tribes India and associated sales channels.
