    About the Programme

    The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy programme aimed at generating sustainable employment opportunities through establishment of new micro enterprises in rural and urban areas in the non-farm sector. The scheme is administered by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, with KVIC as the nodal agency at national level.

    Eligibility

    1. Any individual above 18 years can apply
    2. Applicable for new micro-enterprises in non-farm sector
    3. Special categories include SC/ST/OBC/Women/Minorities/Ex-servicemen/Transgenders/NER/Aspirational District beneficiaries
    4. Beneficiary contribution: 10% for General category and 5% for Special category
    5. Minimum 8th standard pass for projects above ₹10 Lakh (manufacturing) or ₹5 Lakh (services)
    6. Self-Help Groups and Charitable Trusts are also eligible
    7. Existing units and units already availing Government subsidy are NOT eligible
    8. Only new projects are eligible – no expansion/modernization of existing units

    • Project cost eligible up to ₹50 Lakhs for Manufacturing sector and ₹20 Lakhs for Service sector
    • Special category beneficiaries get higher subsidy
    • Bank provides remaining project loan after beneficiary contribution
    • Support through EDP training, workshops, exhibitions, backward & forward linkages
    • General category: 15% (urban) / 25% (rural)
    • Special category (SC/ST/OBC/Women/Minorities/Ex-Servicemen/Transgenders/NER/Aspirational District): 25% (urban) / 35% (rural)
    • Beneficiary contribution: 10% (General) / 5% (Special category)

    How to Apply

    1. Online Registration: Visit the KVIC PMEGP e-Portal and register
    2. Fill Application: Complete the online application form with required details
    3. Upload Documents: Upload required documents including project report, Aadhaar, bank details
    4. Processing: Application is processed through KVIC/KVIB/DIC and financing bank
    5. Bank Sanction: After approval, bank sanctions loan and subsidy is released
