    About the programme

    The National Handloom Development Programme supports integrated and holistic development of handloom weavers, both within and outside the cooperative structure. It provides assistance for raw materials, design inputs, technology upgradation, marketing, infrastructure, credit, welfare, research, training and cluster development.

    Eligibility

    Eligibility varies by component. Potential beneficiaries include handloom weavers, handloom workers, Self-Help Groups, producer groups, weavers’ cooperative societies, handloom organizations, implementing agencies and eligible institutions. Applicants must satisfy the weaver identification, cluster, registration or institutional requirements prescribed for the particular component.

    How to Apply

    1. Identify the applicable NHDP component, such as cluster development, marketing assistance, infrastructure, welfare, credit or training.
    2. Visit the Handlooms or My Handlooms portal for the relevant online facility or notification.
    3. Register using the weaver, group, cooperative or implementing-agency details.
    4. Complete the prescribed application and project information.
    5. Upload or submit the required documents.
    6. Forward the proposal through the concerned State Handloom Department, Weavers’ Service Centre or designated implementing authority, where required.
    7. The proposal is scrutinised and sanctioned by the competent authority under the applicable component.

    Documents

    The component-wise checklist may include Aadhaar, photograph, bank details, weaver identity or e-Pehchan Card, handloom-weaver registration, cooperative or group registration documents, caste certificate where applicable, project proposal, beneficiary list, land or infrastructure documents, financial estimates, quotations, State Government recommendation and other documents prescribed under the relevant component.
